From worldwide importance, Emmis Bulgaria is a proud partner of “Earth Hour”. This is a global event asking citizens of Sydney to turn off their lights. “Earth Hour” has spread and become one of the most important world initiatives to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. On the 28th of March 2009, Saturday, at 20:30, people all over the world turned off their lights for one hour – “Earth Hour”. The aim was to unite more than 1 billion people from more than 1000 cities and to show that it is time for action against climate change. “Earth Hour” started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2,2 million households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour. Only one year later this event became a global movement with more than 100 million participants in 35 countries.
