Kill the speed, save a child

The symbol of the campaign of Radio FM+ “Kill the speed, save a child” has already been included in the Law on Road Traffic as a new road sign. Its aim is to warn drivers to slow down to protect children’s life, especially in places where children unexpectedly cross streets – such as schools, kindergartens, etc.
This is one of the many acknowledgements for the importance of one of the most successful and priority campaigns of Radio FM+, which has won many prestigious awards – first award for a campaign in favour of the community during the festival “Silver Wave” in Albena in 2005 and for a media PR campaign of the Bulgarian Marketing Association for the year 2004; diploma for “Exceptional contribution to the service for the community and in the radio industry in Bulgaria” at the annual awards of the World radio association NAB, award for socially responsible business at the annual awards during the Bulgarian forum of business leaders and the International forum of business leaders of the prince of Wales.
The initiative started in April 2004 with the message “Neither saved second on the road does not cost as much as the life of a child!” Its main purpose is to provoke the social attention to the huge number of car accidents whose victims are children and also to do the best to save their life with the help of different activities – production and use of special stickers and road signs with the text “Kill the speed, save a child!” which are put on the back of buses, trolley buses and trams from Sofia city transport and also on some of the busiest crossroads.
So far, the campaign has arranged the placement of 40 road signs, installation of artificial roughness around 15 schools and the act of sticking of more than 4800 stickers on the vehicles from the city transport.
